Some of youz guys have seen this one, but I thought I would post for those who have not seen it. Picture was taken New Years Eve shortly before 2:30 PM by a co-worker. The place 120 mile North of the Arctic Circle 50 miles east of the NW Arctic Sea Coast (Chukchi Sea). I wish all of you a belated Happy New Year!

Is that the real color of the landscape or is that just how the camera interpereted it?

Hmmm...I was stuck in my office doing paperwork :( when the picture was taken. Based on observations I think it's somewhat how the camera imaged it. Although I will say that several people remarked how colorful the sunsets were on the 31st and Jan 1st. I didn't get a chance to see either (I was stuck in my office on the 1st too).

Digital cameras interpolate colors and are often a little off. Personally I like the effect that has. ;)

That is one hella nice pic.

I too copy and pasted as my background... have many pics of sunsets and sunrises.. just ask me.. ill show them to ya..:)
