I have been looking around lately for a backpack that can fit all my books and my laptop (dell inspiron 2500). So far the only thing that looks roomy enough is the targus deluxe at bestbuy. Does anybody have any recomondations? I'm tring to spend under 70 but I think realisticly I'm gonna end up spending closer to 100. Any input would be great.

as far as notebook backpacks go, I'd stick with targus.

i too prefer targus bags...but HERE (http://www.ebags.com/search/index.cfm?fuseaction=searching&search=category&categoryID=8129&ibrand=yes&brandID=1&BrandStore_Link=1_Browse_Laptop%20Packs) are a few lower cost options.

Targus makes great laptop bags, but they just scream STEAL ME as Targus has a nasty habit of putting their logo all over the bag and on every zipper pull. My boss had his Targus bag stolen from the back seat of his car, alas there was no notebook inside, just a bunch of files! :D

A more traditional looking backpack would be preferable. www.mec.ca has some laptop bags but for some strange reason they don't ship all of them outside of Canada :\

I've never been happy with backpacks... I simply use two laptop cases, one for a laptop, and one for tools and CDs...

This is one that was popular at my old store:

Aluminum, quite large, $29.99 Cdn at Canadian Tire (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=181559&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=166971&bmUID=1041952709529&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=139715&assortment=primary)

I have one of those shiny monstrosities. no good if you want to put a laptop in it, but decent for hauling around tools in.
