I built my latest PC last August for using at Uni. Spec is Athlon XP2000+, Gigabyte 7VRXP+, 512Mb DDR333, Leadtek A250 graphics, SB Audigy, DVD, CDRW, Diamond SupraExpress 56i (SUP2761), WinXP Home.

My problem is this: I have been trying since August to get my modem to work, but it says every time that the data is invalid when installing drivers. I have used a program off the conexant website to identify the modem, but it won't install with any of the drivers I have tried. Any suggestions? Could it have anything to do with saying during Windows setup that I'd be connecting to the net through a LAN?

Read here, this is a common problem with the registry (http://www.dynalink.com.au/support/registry_edit_solution.pdf)
