In an effort to try and clean up my system and make my computer run better I tried using a Registry cleaning utility called "Registry Medic". I made a registry back up before I used the program & then ran it & got rid of the registry info that the Medic program said was not needed .

Since then I have a number of different problems that have developed.

1) I have started to get an error message when trying to
launch my "Unreal Tournament" that reads like this......

Critical error
(X) General Protection Fault
History:FLight Manager::Init<- URender::Init<-UGame
Engine::Init <-Init Engine

2) When starting up my computer from a normal shut down,
I get an error message after the system boots, but before
the desktop loads that says ..............................

Cmdninst

Cmdninst has caused an error in (unknown)

This message halts the start-up and I have to run a system
restore to clear it.

Can anyone help me ? Or maybe tell me where there is someone that can.

Have you tried doing a System Restore to a date before you used the registry cleaner ??

Lots of great info on cmdninst here (http://www.buildorbuy.org/cmdninst.html)

There are currently two threads about the Unreal Tournament problem... these problems both have a root cause in using registry medic, so this topic will be locked and further comments can be posted Here (http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/wd/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47586)
