Tv Problem

yesterday i went to Win2000 formum for advise how do enable DMA. Thanks for help. But Video card dosent work with DVD anyway. I can see evrything an TV exept once i want to see DVd movie i cant. i'm using AtI 8500dv video card. what is the point of having tv out in you cant watch DVD movies right???.


can you give me some advise how to fix it???

you shouldn't be having any trouble with this setup. . . . .

you should just have to change the display to TV out and launch the ATI DVD player.

can you provide more specific details about what is going on. programs installed etc etc.

the thig is that there is nothing special install an this systyem exept that are install Video sound drivers and program to run DVD player.

What s happening is that i can see everything on tv like desktop and everthing else but once i want to play DVD it seems that iu can see only blank screen (In minimize View) or Blank screen on full screen. I do know what wrong. oh one more thing i'm using SVHS - OUtput. but this thing i dont thig is hase enything to do with dispaly.

Can you view dvd's on your monitor properly?

there are a number of copy protected dvd's here in the USA that will not play on a computer with tv out enabled. Usually though, you get as message to that effect. Do you get video to your tv with anything else? like your desktop? do you have the tv out enabled in your desktop properties?

well this is not the problem i use some really old dvd movie. tv output is on, otherwise i could not see what i'm doing on TV itself.

What dvd player are you using... does it work correctly on your normal desktop.

now are you sure you got it hooked up correctly...tv-out on my ati 7500aiw is what i use (no moniter, just a 27" tv)


no to make sure that this is not a driver issue, when you turn on your computer, with the tv on, you will see, everything thru the windows boot. if you boot up and hit del you will be able to see the bios,make changes thru your tv.


unplug your moniter, plug tv in and reboot......

oh by the way...make sure that the cables are hoocked up porperly

Also, as NooNoo has asked, what version of software are you using for a dvd player?..ATI has a number of faqs on their website relating to problems similar to yours, but they all list different versions of the software, so the fix is different in each case.

we i did no try booting computer using tv only but let me try.

what version i'm using i gone have to check on that too. maybe it drivers problem i dont know but i'l try if not i will let you know

with the new catalist drivers you must go to settings\advanced\options\clone mode options\tic theater mode. apply and enjoy
