I cannot find a driver for that particular card for dos or win 95
and the the one disk I have is corrupted beyond repair.

The disk says

EISA IDE CACHE CONTROLLER DRIVERS

R/N: 081492

My system runs super slow...inch worm pace.
It takes 5 minutes just to start up.

IT seems like win95 and the controller card are fighting over rights to the hard drive.

The company was either disolved or bought by another company...and I am guessing

I cannot find any info on their IDE controller card.

My computer:
Comtrade:
486DX250 EISA
w/8MB memory

Western Digital Harddrive:
Model:WDC AC2540F

The controller card has fancy firmware where it recognizes most harddrive types...even after 1991 manufactured harddrives.
It also has parrallel and serial ports.
The date on the firmware chip is the only part of the card I can read anything that makes sense.

The only other things on the card are:

DI-550 Rev. B (possible model #)
*239BG0A11274* (barcode by the parallelport)

(a chip on the board)
ST200AEI
107195
9232A

On the back it says VERTEX M1 and the # 9238
Oh it also says Made in Taiwan R.O.C.!

I can supply a picture of the card, if it will help.

Is there any hope for me?

Please e-mail me...if anyone knows...at

baconslice@yahoo.com

Thank you for your time.

Just a suggestion...if this is a VLB board, you may want to buy a new one. They are fairly inexpensive, even if you shop around on the Internet for a new one.
