I put "Winbond" in quotes because although it uses Winbond chips, Windbond Corp. adamantly denies having made it--"We don't make boards, we just sell chips." But Windoze95 identifies it as a "Winbond VL-IDE board" and correctly identifies the chip used in it. Say what?
Anyhow the thing works fine in this computer ... it's a VESA-bus Aunt Tique, dontcha know, but it handles my three hard drives and CDR drive no sweat.
What I need to know: It is a MF board, containing LPT, COM1/2 and game controller. I have figured out how to disable the game controller (because it argues with the controller on my sound card) ... but I can't for the life of me discern the logic behind the jumpers for controlling the other I/O ports. Has anyone had experience with this Beast in the past and can point me in the proper direction? Thanks.
