I am having a problem with my IE 6.0 View encoding. Running Win 98 SE if this comes in to play. Anyway, when I go from web page to web page , the encoding always defaults back to Western European (ISO) and I get a distorted view. I change it to Western European (Windows) and everything is fine until I go to the next web page and it defaults back to Western European (ISO). Have also tried Auto-Select with no luck. How do I get it to default pemanently to correct encoding??? Have all windows updates and I believe this may have caused this problem, but not sure. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

I did a quick google search and came up with this:

I seem to have fixed this by using 'regedit' and going to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\contro l\Nls\Codepage
And changing the value for Default to "cp_1252.nls"

Turns out this is a known issue with IE6 under Win98, however MS isn't going to fix it since support for Win98 is pretty much discontinued.
