NooNoo April 3rd, 2003, 01:19 PM Or the colour guns... silencio April 3rd, 2003, 01:29 PM Had a 3 year warranty on my Sony. They fixed it no charge even though there was a crack in the case (dropped it on the way to the car). TRICKPLAYER April 3rd, 2003, 01:44 PM Can colour guns be adjusted? DonJ April 3rd, 2003, 03:05 PM Which Sony model is it? Go here for Sony Support for Displays. (http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/displays/) It might have a manual available for your use as well as updated .inf files. Outcoded April 4th, 2003, 03:29 AM Could we have a picture of what it's displaying? CeeBee April 4th, 2003, 02:07 PM Make a bitmap with Red, Green, Blue and Black bands. If you're missing a colour you'll find it. If one colour is not getting blanked you'll see it on the black band. Usually it's a transistor (older models), newer ones might have an IC that outputs te control signals for RGB. Most likely it can be repaired at a decent price. (say 1 hour labour + $10 parts..) CRT's have a habbit of failing in time, not suddenly. The only adjustable thing about the colour guns are the magnets for focusing. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE! - you've been warned. :flame: TRICKPLAYER April 5th, 2003, 08:12 AM Model number is a G520, 21", I don't have any warranty though, I bought it second hand, cheap, you can guess why, due to post, anyway I think I will try the repair option. DonJ April 5th, 2003, 12:11 PM I found this: specs on the 650GS. (http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/displays/legacy/specs/cpd520gs.pdf) It is the closest I could come up with G650. It says it is 21". It also says that it has built-in diagnostics. The following link is supposed to tell be the Instructions for running the SelfTest. (http://ciscweb.sel.sony.com/scripts/web_access.cgi?FUNC=SOLUTION_DETAIL&SOL_ID=4441) But their site was having "technical difficulties." You might them again later on... EDIT: Oh yeah, you're in the UK. Go here for Display downloads from England's website. (http://www.sony-cp.com/en/support/downloads/index.html) Scroll down to the G-Series and select your model number. Let us know if this helps you out any. Hopefully, you won't need to take it in for repairs. Good Luck! TRICKPLAYER April 6th, 2003, 04:19 AM Thanks for all your help, everyone, I am going to take it for repair. windrivers.com
