I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I am thinking about starting a small pc repair business out of my home and I am wondering where to buy my parts from. Where do commercial pc stores get their parts from? I know about places like pricewatch, ect. but I don't want to have to search around the net for the best price and then order from several different suppliers just to fix a pc. I would like to find 2 or 3 distributors (preferably in the midwest) to order everything from. Does anyone out there have any ideas or work in the industry? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on what part of Wisconsin you are in, try Able computers in Minneapolis..I use them for a lot of stuff I need quickly..not always the cheapest prices, but immediate answers on instock, on order, etc.

Able Computer Systems MN
6667 W Old Shakopee Rd #110
Bloomington, MN 55438
866.943.2253 xt 104 Toll Free

Also, they only sell to resellers..gotta have either a sales tax permit or whatever wisconsin uses

I buy some items that I need the next from from a local (for me Buffalo) distributir, but I have been using newegg.com for most things. Their prices are great, rma's are always no problem, and I almost always get the part in 2 days for cheaper shipping. I don't know how they can do it but I sure take advantage of it. Probably lack of tech support but we "real" tech's don't need it anyway, right?

i don't know if its the same place or not, but we use an Able Computer, but they are out of Seattle and Portland (i'm in WA). for stuff we need next day we get thro them, but for other stuff we don't need in a hurry we've been using Newegg lately. both places are really easy to work with and rmas are not a problem either

Yep..Able has a few different locations..what i like is that I have an assigned sales contact..and everything gets to me next day at standard ups rates..even if I call at 4:30 pm I've got it by 10 the next morning..and I'm 200 miles away.

Hmm I guess we had Bad luck with the Able Here in Ohio. It seemed like they hated to do RMAs, Sales Person kept on trying to pull Fast ones over us, Also We had them build all of our systems, which when we got them in the shop right out of the box we would have to reload them. :(

We had them build them because They claimed all the computer parts would have 3 year part warranty. But to find out about every 3 computers We bought the warranty information was missing so those computers had no warranty.

I like NewEgg and they are local to me however Allstarshop.com is too and they allow will call which is really nice. Their pricing is a near match to NewEgg and sometimes better. CS is top notch....
