Is it possible to get MSN Messenger 5.0(5.0.0544) to show status as offline when you sign in to MSN8. I do not want to dissable Messenger.
I hate being interupted within mins. of signing in.:(

Not sure you can... I use trillian, which allows me to appear offline or away as I choose.

As an alternative to Trilian, check out Gaim (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim/)

Formerly only availible to the Linux community, now a Windows version has been released.
I haven't used it personally, (been about a year the last time I used an IM), but I have heard nothing but good about it.

Best of all it is open source.
