Situation:

2 XP Pro Workstations (Identical)
Novell Client 4.83
Novell 6 Server 5 User License

Issue on one machine (lets call it A) I can login and see everything on the network. I can even alter files on the server. However, I can not map a drive to a folder on the server. This is regardless of the user I am logged in as.

On machine B, however, everything works fine. Drives are mapped and working. Machine A can not even map a drive using a user that was successful on Machine B.

I fdisked and formated Machine A, still no go. The error tells me "the path could not be found". This is when I am right clicking on the folder even. I have even tried using the Novell Map Drive utility.

I am leaving for large amounts of alcohol, so I will not be able to post back until I sober up. But I would appreciate any and all assistance.

Ok I am back, thanks for your patience.

I am using TCP/IP only (server and workstations) and I am not sharing anything off of the XP machines. I am only tring to connect to the Novell Server.

This is such an odd event, I have never seen this issue and have setup Novell Servers with XP Pro workstations in the past, albiet this is the first Novell 6, the rest had been Novell 5.

I just noticed another thing....

When I try to print to one of the network printers I get access denied. Its like it will not connect to network devices. However, I can create new files, delete them and read them off of the server from this PC, I just can not map drives or appearantly print to another network device.

Have you tried adding the server name and IP to the hosts file? I know it sounds odd but it works for me sometimes.

Another thing, check the licenses in use. Seems Novell 6 gives a users a license for 90 days unless you go into Imanager and kill it off.
