From time to time there will be pink or green tint surrounding images on my laptop screen. Is the problem the video card or the monitor itself? I have an Intel Pentium II laptop that I have had since 1997 with a Neomagic graph 128XD video card. Would just updating the video drivers solve the problem or do I have to get a new video card altogether?

Thanks

Is the laptop near some speakers, or perhaps a cordless phone or a flourescent lamp? Sounds like something is interfering.

...since 1997....

... more likely failing (displlay panel) .... if no obvious interferance.... & presumming you haven't changed anything strange....

Many laptops have an external monitor port, you could connect up a pc monitor to that (if there is one?) to clear up whether its the display or the video card, but I think you'll find the display is failing, 6 years is ancient by 'computing' standards :eek2:
