Autocomplete Hangs When Clearing

When I go to Tools>Options>Content>Autocomplte and try to clear the list[s} IE 6 will hang. I have searched the net and found where others are having this problem but I have yet to see a solution. I am running XP Home edition with Internet Explorer 6.

Any help would be appreciated,

Try exporting and then deleting this registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

In theory you shouldn't need to restart... in theory!

Thanks for the help NooNoo but that did not solve the problem. My system still hangs up when trying to clear the forms while on the Auto Complete window.

The MS Knowledge Base has a procedure to edit the registry to allow one to reinstall IE 6 {http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318378} but the latest version I have in my MSDN subscription is IE 5.5 and at 28.8 K, it's quite a download. I thought I MIGHT could use my XP CD and choose "Add Additional Componets" as IE 6 is there.

Any other ideas before I go this route? This is no big deal but I hate for little things like this to not work.
