I had quite a few problems with my last install of XP. After a month, It would just randomly restart itself!
I formatted and reinstalled xp, and while installing some things, it did it again.
I got a BSOD that said there was a problem with ntfs.sys.
I replaced my cables for my hdd, moved the two I have apart from each other (they felt pretty hot, I have never seen that before)
I ran scandisk etc etc.
As my system stands now, its just xp, no other drivers except detinator 30.82 (the newer ones cause mouse problems)
Any tips? Is my main hard drive shot?

OK, time to find out what is causing the restarts.
Windows XP defaults to restarting when it has a problem... first thing to do is turn it off so you can actually see the error or blue screen of death. Right click my computer, properties, advanceds, startup and recovery and uncheck the automatically restart on error box.
Next have a look at the event viewer - start, control panel, performance and maintenance, administrative tools, event viewer... what do you have as errors in there?

First off, thanks for your help. Here is what I have done, and so far, it has resolved it (Fresh install, installing apps, running games etc..
I changed my IDE cables, that didnt work. Next I simply just changed outlets that my computer plugs into. The wiring is pretty old in my house and I had quite a bit of crap plugged into it. Once i did that, it worked fine lol.
My guess is that i was drawing too little or inconsistant power to my box and that was causing the problems.. Time will tell :P
