From the Word Detective: (http://www.word-detective.com/121597.html)
One dictionary that does deal with "mook" is the recently published Volume Two of the excellent Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang (which I will call "HDAS" to save space). According to HDAS, "mook" means "an ineffectual, foolish, or contemptible person."
hmmmm...me thinks you might be onto something there

they may be, but i'll say this, They've impressed me with 2k3...
many of the "holes" that are common to the desktop OS's and even previous server OS's have been disabled by default. I usualy spend a couple of hours tweaking and configuring various security issues to plug holes, but had few to do on the new OS....
As for the update... a kb ## would have been great... Good thing i've turned off auto-updating...

Problematic Windows XP Update Pulled
By Ryan Naraine
Microsoft (Quote, Company Info) late Tuesday withdrew a Windows XP software update after thousands of users complained the patch was blocking Internet connectivity. The Windows XP update, first posted on May 21, was issued to enhance the functionality of the Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and Internet Protocol security (IPSec) on PCs running Windows XP or Windows 2000.

Good luck with a Class Action Suit. You agreed to their EULA, you get stuck with the consequences.
