I Have a Gainward Ti 4200 650/DV Video card
I have a Viewsonic GS790 19" Monitor
and I have a "Flicker" problem, the Flicker isn't constant, but it is annoying, somethimes it'll flicker during boot, while it's just sitting there or during a game.
I just swittched from a Epox 8K7A+ with a VIA chipset to a Asus A7N8X with NVidia chipset.
Prior to this I had no problems.
I'm wondering if the Mboard Nvidia drivers are the culpret, but I don't know. My monitor refesh rate is set to 85hz. 1280x960 16bit
I did a clean install and transferred all the parts from one board to the other. I have installed all the latest Drivers for all parts, all the OS updates. I'm stumped

System Specs
WinXP Pro w/SP1
768mb PC2100 DDR
Asus A7N8X
Gainward Ti 4200 650/DV Video card
Viewsonic GS790 19" Monitor
SBllive Sound card
3com NIC
MS Keyboard & Mouse

hmmm. 1st - you dont keep mobile phones next to your monitor do you?

2nd - check your grahpics card is screwed in very securely.

you can try updateing your dirvers but i would be surprised if that fixed it.

if the above dont work, make sure there are no pci cards in the slot next to the agp slot.

1600 by 1200 maximum resolution at 70-Hz refresh rate

Refresh rate: 95-Hz maximum refresh rate at 1280 by 1024 resolution

1280x960 is somewhat of a wierd resolution, it may not be properly suppoted, try 1280x1024 at 85 hertz.

This monitor only 'strictly' supports fixed ratio modes ... so Noo is correct
1600x1200 @ 75Hz
1280x1024 @ 95Hz
1024x768 @ 115Hz
800x600 @ 145Hz

Other 'x' by 'y' combos won't necessarily work 100% (unless you fathom your horizontal & vertical refresh rates for your 'peculiar resolution' & add that to any monitor customisation file)

Somewhere in your monitor controls should be an information panel which displays the actual refresh rate the monitor is using. Try accessing this when the problem occurs. This would also allow you to verify it it goes away when you switch to a more standard resolution.
