Hello,

This is a problem that has been actually causeing my hair to fall out. I cannot get a mouse to work on my system. I have a Intel motherboard/166 and a serial mouse port. Now, after countless days of screwing with drivers... loading/unloading, My computer still does not reconize a mouse. So, I went out and bought a PCI serial mouse card and pluged it in. That didnt work either.. Is it possible that there is a motherboard driver missing which is causeing the computer to not know what a serial mouse is? I need help, or else I'm throwing this thing out the window..

Balding..

I don't think the problem with win95
it must be the hardware .. check with the Bios and see if the Serial port is disabled ..if the serial port is disabled
set it to:
Port1 > 3F8H/IRQ4
Port2 > 2F8H/IRQ3
or set the 2 ports to auto if the option is available

I'VE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BEFORE WITH MY OLD CPU P200 . I TRIED EVERYTHING FROM ADDING/REMOVING THE MOUSE FROM THE DEVICE MANAGER TO REINTALLING WIN95. I ALSO TRIES ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT MICE TYPES BUT TO NO AVALE.
THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE COMS THEMSELVES ON THE MOTHERBOARD AND UNFORTUNATELY I HAD TO GET A NEW MOTHERBOARD. THAT WAS THE ONLY SOLLUTION!!
HOPE THIS HELPS.
