When I got mine for $125 about 6 months ago I thought it was a pretty good deal.
It's not the perfect device for getting mp3s to your home stereo but it's pretty good. if it sorted albums by filename instead of the title tag it would be 3x better. . . . but you can get around this by simply making album playlists with any number of free play list generators out there.
I'm seriously considering getting another unit or two to put upstairs in the babies room and one in the garage instead of the cd player and alll the cds that are out there now.
