I just got this in my email today. The price is $120 with a $20 rebate. Anyone else get this email from Tigerdirect? I've never bought from Tigerdirect, so I don't know how reliable they are. Any opinions on Tigerdirect and this DVD RW.

I Live Near Tigerdirect In Naperville Illinois,,,,
DONT Buy From Them,,,
SPEAKING From,Experience~!!!
To Date ( Yes I Learned SLOWLY )
5 Bad Motherboards ( No Returns EVEN DOA~!! RMA Only)
3 Bad Hard Drives,,,,Clearly upon opening box,, ALL three had been used,, Returned, And Reboxed ~!
My Favorite :D
CDRW Drive.. Installed It,, Opened The Tray,, OMG,, A Windows XP CD~!!!!
To Bad The Drive Wouldnt Spin Up~!!!
GEforce2 Vid Card,,, DOA
Geforce 4 Vid Card DOA Both Pine/XFX
2 Modems,, No Driver Disk And evidence it had been mounted~!!
Case/350watt supply Open Box,, Supply was gone~!
I Could List MORE,, But,, As A Local,,, EVERYTHING they have "ONSALE" Consists of REFURBISHED,Or No Longer manufactured Parts~!, Out Dated to the point that often,, Even The Manufacture Will Not Allow RMAs.

And The REBATE ITEMS??? OMG,, DONT EVEN GET Me Started,,, Im STILL OWED Over 200.00 In Rebates~!!!
Poor Poor postal service is always the blame~!! Yeah Right,, And Im The Pope~!!!

Thats odd, I buy from Tiger Direct quite frequently. I've never had to return anything. Never any billing problems, everything I've purchased has been shipped out quickly. I have bought items from them both at work and at home.

I did buy a DVD writer from them (Panasonic DF521? somtehing like that), that I've had problems with. I didn't try to get it returned until after 30 days had passed and they wouldn't take it back, but that was my fault. I didn't research the purchase at all then I waited too long to try and return it.

I'm surprised to see such negative comments. I've always had good experiences with Tiger Direct.

I almost never buy rebate items, mostly because I forget to mail the rebate back in. I'm usually pretty sure of what I want by make and model before I buy so except for the one DVD RW drive I've never had a need for an RMA or a rebate. Maybe their customer service is lacking, buying from them has been a breeze though.

One, two, three, and now four votes to one.

What they Doc, Trout, and ephmynus said.

cisco2 - you must be in the fortunate 1% of TD's satisfied customers. With luck like that, maybe you should buy a lotto ticket - ;) :D

Just For Grins,,, :)
I Stopped at Tiger saturday to see this DVD Writter,, AS I SUSPECTED,,, REBOXED REFURBISHED Junk~!!!
I have a couple friends employed There<Notice I DIDNT Say They "WORK" There lol>
They confirmed these drives were from a defective run,, and were refurbished by the factory..
Since i live like 8 miles from tiger,, often,, i hit the outlett store for cheapy junk like antec cases that were returned. EVERYTHING that gets returned goes directly to the clearance center there.. And Trust Me when i say,, Its 2X Bigger than the average high end shop,, STACKED to the ceiling~!!
Tiger is a weird kind of place,, they DO handle alot of GOOD quality merchandise,,, BUT,, Its a crap shoot as far as if its a working componet or a return often place back on the store shelf.
When i need parts for a customer fast,,, I Order them elsewhere,,
But,, if its a charity deal,,, i sift through the rubble there sometimes.

Hi there,

Usually, I always check the S&H and return policy, every single time I buy form a online shop that I'm new to. I always print them out, just in case if I have problems, so they don't change the terms. :) Also, print out the actual item itself. I also check out website reviews for online shopping and their rating.

However, a few times, try and try and try again, contacting the company if you have problem with the item. If on the website for the product say "brand new" and they send you a repackage (or refuribish) produit, it's clearly fraud and false adversating. If it's a refuribish item, it must be clearly stated. Most honest online store will post it out.

If that doesn't work, contact your local Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org/) and launch your complaint to them and they might help you. Also check out other comsumer rights website as well. Good luck...

Ju Leon...
