Keyboard Failure

My keyboard is not being recognized by windows or the entire computer for that matter. I can't type and because the last time I shut down windows i did not shut it down properly I can't even get past scandisk after booting up because it asks me to save or delete. The keyboard is not showing any lights on (It's a MS Natural Keyboard). Can someone please help me. I have a project i have to do for work which requires me to do at home.
