Hey Gang,
I'm trying to upgrade this old 486 computer. I have to find out how much RAM she has and how big her hard drive is. How do I do that in Windows 3.1?
Thanks,
Orangeman

Best bet would probably to reboot and watch the memory count up, then enter the CMOS setup and chek the hard drive settings.
Also, two DOS commands you can try are mem and chkdsk, exit windows and run those.

Windows 3.1 had a fairly decent diagnostic program built in.
It was called "Microsoft Diagnostics". To get to it, run "MSD" from a command prompt.

I suggested MEM and CHKDSK, and NooNoo suggested MSD.EXE and HWINFO (http://www.hwinfo.com/), so believe the problem has been solved.
