Hi guys,
I run a 1 GHz Slot a Thunderbird Processor based machine with 512MB Memory.
I recently got hold of a USB Webcam, and installed the drivers, then plugged it in. Using the "native" software locks up the PC when I try and do a preview image on screen, and likewise if I try to take a pic or movie.
I can only get it to work in preview mode with NetMeeting software (naff).
Also, once activated, the "native" software will not close down, as if it is waiting for something to happen.
The webcam light comes on to show that it is activated, and when I try to shut down the PC, it hangs on the "Windows is Shutting down" screen.
It is a Volcano IC100 webcam, never heard of this one before, can it be a problem with my USB/Mobo?
I run a MSI-6167 with the latest BIOS patch installed with Win98SE as the OS (I don't trust XP).
No other USB devices were plugged in at the same time, and No other programs were running either.
The device list shows it working with no conflicts etc.
Any advice would be appreciated, I have no experience of Webcams at all.
Thank you
