I recently bought this Dual Format Dvd burner and it didn't come with any drivers or anything. It works but I can only burn up to 2.4x but it says it can burn up to 4x. Im thinking XP just put in the standard drivers to make it work. I went to cendyne's site and they are worthless. It seems to be a pretty popular drive (cheap) so I was hoping some other people might have it. Thanks for anything.

I bet the speed limitation has more to do with the media you are burning too and from than the drivers. The advertised speed is probabally not attainable after all we are dealing with folks trying to get you to buy their product. I have two seperate burners that I have used in three different systems and neither burns anywhere close to the advertised speed. Xp doesn't need a driver for the cd/dvd drives it uses a standard driver as a matter of fact I dont know any cd manufacturers that make drivers for xp unless the drive is USB. You might look for firmware upgrades for the drive Cendyne's download page is here. (http://www.cendyne.com/downloads/) Good luck!

Thats the download page I checked and there wasn't anything there. I never have delt wiht a burner that didn't burn as fast as it says it would. It also says it will burn cd's at 24X and it does that fine.

DVD burning will depend on a number of factors, not least the computer's ability to supply the data. Add to that varying qualities of media and what type of files you are burning, it will all have an effect.
