I would if anyone would be able to help, i look after a large network which covers various types of computer usages' and centralised offices and i wish to distribute the update of the anti- virus software remotely without having to visit each machine in turn and if at all possible without restarting the machines.

I manage about 300 LAN/WAN systems with various OS's. We use Mcafee E-Policy Orchestrator. We use that to push the antivirus installations, patches, updates, and set system policies.

Generally I've had good luck with it.

One of the major advantages of using ePolicy is that it can manage and update competitors' products such as Norton AV. (http://www.nai.com/us/_tier2/products/_media/mcafee/ds_epolicy_orchestrator.pdf)

Check out page 529 and on for specific product versions supported in this PDF: http://www.networkassociates.com/common/media/mcafeeb2b/support/EPO/ePO_30_Product_Guide_EN.pdf
