Boy, is this getting annoying, but I think it must be down to the drive and what it has installed on the PC -

It is a Pioneer A-103

All working fine until about a month ago when Nero started playing up and not responding when going to burn. It would just freeze and I would have to restart the PC. Sometimes it would work, but it was a bit hit and miss. Bought new Nero 6 - same problem, so I don't think it is software there.

Now Windows Media Player 9 is playing up. If I want to transfer audio and convert to MP3 with it, it now does about four tracks and then opens CD tray as if its finished - weird.

Third problem I have noticed is that when I click on the shortcut on my desktop for the CD drive it comes up with PLAYER.exe not found.

Could this something to do with it and is there somewhere I can find it?

Any help would be much appreciated as it is doing me in!

All the best

James

Hi James,

If these are MP3's the first culprit I'd check for are viruses. Try a full system boot scan or scanning in Safe Mode.

Good LUck,

Good LUck,
Orangeman ;)Hi punkinhead. I think this one is being taken care of in the XP forum (he posted twice and once Noo gets back, one should be "edited"). And just because YOU were taken down by Kazaa and malware does not mean that this is his problem. Sounds more like hardware/driver issues.http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/thumbs.gif

Yep, That's true.

But while you're singing the praises of free/pirated/virus infected software, we don't know the real cause of his probems yet. And until we do, my guess is as good as yours....:D isn't it....

(probably a little bit better too!) ;)

That would ALL of course be a matter of perspective like that 'wise business'

When we've all finnished scoring points :eek2: :D, the duplicate is to be found In the xp forum here (http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=55236) .

For future reference shooting light you can delete your own duplicate posts by editing them, at the top of the resultant page there's a little tick box....

There's new stuff on the other ... so I'll go answer there ;)
