Hello,

I have just installed Win XP onto my system from 98, I have all the same hardware as i did with 98. Now I have over a 100 CD/R's which i have a lot of useful information and waves I recorded(I am a studio engineer) so I need to acsess them and soon! But now that I have changed the OS, my CD/R will not read the CD's @ all. Yes I finalized them and yes I am using the same software to burn and read disks. It opens up the the CD but there is no visible information on the CD. Click on properties and it shows that the CD's have 64,75 & 80 bytes of information on them.

Ladies and Gentlemen I need help and need it soon!

Have you applied any available XP patches for the software?
Try the nero trail pack it should be able to let you know if its the software.

I agree with Archer. I assume that you are positive all these CD's were "good" copies before, and if so, they will still be good now. To prove this to yourself, take a couple to another PC and see if you can read them. If that is the case, we have to then nail down what went wrong in the upgrade process. So: are the cd's readable on another drive in another pc?

asuming that not all the files are "wavs" and there is also some data on the disks , why not boot up with your win98 cd and see if u can see them ?, this will hopefully eliminate a faulty cd rom , and then , it is down to a windoze problem.

You dont specify the software......
Had this once with Easy CD Creator/Roxio. Downloaded the appropriate patch for the version from Roxio, and could then see the files.
