IS there any program that can allow me to emulate a network; let me explain
I only have one pc, now until i can get the other pc's.
I need a program that would make the computer (see) other computers and a network. To practise networking. Would also like it to cuz problems on the virtual network to solve. IF you have probelms understanding cuz put up your msg

The suggestions that spring to mind are VMware & Virtual PC (late of Connectix & now owned by M$) ... go forth & google :D

You also might want to find a program that can emulate a spell checker. Practice is spelled with a C not an S :)

I agree with confus-ed on vmware or virtual pc. Both have trial versions to test them out and shockingly enough, MS is actually cheaper by more than half, VMware=$300 MS=$129 USD. Ofcourse to do this you want something with bumped up specs. I would recommend 512 of ram and higher and a decent processor. Plus I think you need atleast 2000 Pro or XP Pro to run VM's, maybe NT.

What type of network problems are you looking to troubleshoot. With a virtual network you can setup a virtual 200/2003 domain and see how DNS/WINS/DHCP/host and all that good stuff works together and what happens when something is missing. Troubleshooting hardware related issues is a little bit more difficult obviously.

Tony
