Also, do you mean when you open a window the CPU usage goes to 100% and falls back or stays there? and can you give us some specs on your computer? Kineda February 26th, 2004, 10:37 AM sounds like you got some nasty little spyware in there... try running adaware and see what happens after stocks101 February 26th, 2004, 06:46 PM Problem is when I try to open "EXPLORER", it takes forever to open if at all. When I check task mgr cpu @ 100%. If I kill the explorer process cpu goes back to 1-2 %. IE works fine as long as I do not open explorer. PC is a clone p3 256mb 15gb ide IBM deathstar dr w/ win2000 sp4 etc. PC all works ok as long as I don't open explorer or try to access files. Works ok in safe mode. I have run ad-aware and spybot to no avail. I have found a few reg hacks and they did not fix either. I ran hijackthis and cleaned up but still prob. It was very sudden and I have worked on for hours. Just was determined to fix rather than reload. This is nuts!!!!!!!!! Thanks for responding guys. windrivers.com
