Have a windows 98 2ed system with IE 6 that will not open. It says it is running and there is a reg error. It had a virus but dont know whitch one. Ran norton anti-virus 4 and no virus. I loaded netscape and it is working to get on the internet. But canot get ie6 cleared out or what reg entrys to change .anyone have an answer to this?

Go to Control Panel, Add/ Remove Programs, find Internet Explorer, click on add/remove, then click on repair. Should fix the problem..

Well if you haven't tried to uninstall IE6 you can go to
control panel>add/remove programs and scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explores 6. Click the add/remove tab at the bottom of the box and a screen will come up with the options to add a componet/repair/or revert to original Widows configuration.

Try repairing first.

if that does not work and you haven't removed the uninstaller program you can choose the option of restoring original windows configuration. Then you can download IE6 again.

I tryed to repair it and that did not work then i tryed to uninstall it with no luck. It said the program is still runing. Thanks for the help.

I went into system tools and tryed to disable it with no luck, then went into startup and removed it and it came back.
