I did a fresh install not off the recovery partition as my system was running slow. I downloaded all the drivers from Sony's site but a few problems arose.

Obviously Sony will not support the system outside the default config. The modem drivers on their site would not work, I lost control of the extra fuction keys like volume, brightness, etc and I have a device listed as USB controller that did not have drivers installed.

Can anyone point me to where I might find the drivers so I don't have to dig out my backups.

TIA

Hi ericboo...welcome to WinDrivers!

Sony Online Support (http://ciscdb.sel.sony.com/cgi-bin/swu-index.pl) From the Product drop-down menu, select Vaio Notebook. From Series, select V505 Series. From Model, select PCG-V505BX. Then click on Drivers & Updates.

In the left-hand column, click on Original Drivers. A pretty wide selection of drivers are available. Once you've installed the drivers, click on Updates.

Also, notice the other links for Knowledge Base, Documentation, etc.

Good Luck!
