Picture & Fax Viewer

I'm running XP home edition with all available updates. Can anyone tell how I can make ACDSee or other viewer programs become the associated opening program instead of Windows Picture and Fax Viewer? I've already done the association bit as done in Win98, but WP&FV always opens the picture instead of the one I selected.

Help please, anyone.
