Am using Win98SE. After booting, the harddrive keeps running and won't stop.

sethfp, could you please clarify that statement a little? You see a hard drive must run in order for you to access files and so on. Do you mean you hear it constantly spinning?

Does it make a louder noise than usual?
Do you have antivirus?
Do you have any indexing programs?
What windows?

Have found part of the problem. Got the error "no valid FAT 32 partitions found". Corrected that, and the harddrive quit running constantly.
