does anyone know what the string would be to make my lt win modem speed dail?

There's a big list here (http://www.prz.tu-berlin.de/docs/misc/ciscodoc/data/doc/hardware/access/5200/cfig_nts/atcmnds.htm) ( & I mean big !) .. as far as I'm aware there's no such feature really for a modem, it just dials either pulse or tone what you give it, you can cut the 'delay' between pules/tones - but generally the application that is using the modem has all the different numbers stored in it that you might want to 'speed dial' & you just have effectively a list of numbers which you choose from (in the dialing app not in the modem) ..

I found it lastnight on the net its s11=1 you put this in the strings but it has to be the first in the string box the higher the number the slower it dails like i have =1 its the fastest if i put 200 it will dail very slow.i knew it was such a string i had it before just didnt remember what the string was thanks hope this helps anyone else that might want there modem to dail very fast.

Yeah that's slowing or increasing the rate of dialing ( its on 'my' big list !) .. speed dialing is where you press '1' (or 2 or ..) & it dials all the numbers for you .. whatever ! ;) - as long as you've figured out what you wanted .. :)

Yes its very cool string it dails so fast you only hear one beep and it connected to the isp i need all the speed i can get because i sure not going to get it after its connected thanks again

yeap we all do faster is better well i live back in the woods dont have cable or wireless so its slow dail up or sat and its way to high to have sat so if i can speed up anything i will the phone lines onmy road are very old so my connection is slow i am connected now at my best 28800 so i use the string s28=0-v90-0 and the speed dail string before that been looking for a modem tweak to maybe make the bottleneck flow better just cant get much out of people on that i have really learned some things on here in the past week from yall just hope i dont get kicked out from posting to many questions. kinda got time now to catch up on all my pc problems out of work for 3 weeks due to injury on my job so thanks for all the help to all of you.

first off you only connect no faster than these old phonelines will let you and the phone co only Guarantees a 1900 connection rate that it so i am well over there limit on the modem string s38=0 disables 56 flex and -v90=0 disables v90 being my connection is so poor i can not get any of that so i disable and go with the next i think it is v42 if i clear all the strings out it connects at a very low speed like 19000 or 21400 i have even set my port speed to 38400 being i will never reach above that till they put in new lines but if you know of anymore tweaks that would help please kick them in i am not scared to try hey people have told me to try things i would think what is this and i tryed it and made it better so anything helps.

Have you tried forcing it as v34 at any point ?

(for anyone reading who might not have, as I suspect jackpot316 did already ! ;) )
Usually it works everywhere & is tolerant, so if your line only is 28.8 it'll just 'tune down' anyway - if your isp has that or v90 or v92 you can be lucky despite what the telco boys will 'guarantee', like I say it stands up to noise & poor lines ..
There's that 3 com 56k tester server you can ring which is very handy I understand .. can't use it over here, so forgive me if I'm vague (2nd hand tip !) - I found you this about it though ..

S11=55
The S11 register is used for DTMF spacing in milliseconds (ms).
55 was about the fastest Ameritech could use - don't know now - cable!
