Yes guys, I know I'm proving how the eMa-sh!t got it's nickname, but it's what I have and of course I'm having more problems with it. When I got home this afternoon, the monitor button light was flashing like it was on standby but when I moved the mouse, the screen wouldnt come on. I tried restarting it but the screen still wouldnt come on. Every time I try to start it up, the screen button light just flashes and the screen wont turn on. The computer seems to start up fine, but the monitor doesnt. Any suggestions???

Yes I've checked and it's still connected. My friend suggested that it might be stuck in sleep mode, but I tried pushing the sleep button and nothing happened. He also said that their should be a "power button" on the back of the computer that I should try switching on and off but I couldnt seem to find one....

Just pull the power cord out of the back of the computer if you can't find the power switch.

We tried that, didnt work. My friend thinks it might be the video card. We are gonna try to hook up on of our old monitors to it and see if it works, if not, we'll have them come here and see what's up....

Well if another monitor doesn't work the next thing to try is a different video card. If all else fails I hear those e-machines make very good doorstops. :)

LOL! I might just have to try that. :p
Yeah if it's the video card, they should replace it for free because it's under 3 year warranty and we havent even had it a year yet....

Well I hooked up my old monitor to the computer and it works fine. So it obviously is the monitor. I have no clue what is up with it. It's done this once before but it cured itself so I dunno what to do. lol! Oh well, atleast it's not the video card

Right so I'll sort out what Granddad is trying to ask you - how old is the monitor ? - you mentioned earlier '3 year warranty' in relation to the pc - did this monior not come with that ? Monitor warranties are usually longer than for the base unit ..

Yeah the monitor came with the tower. It all came in a package, so the monitor is not even a year old. We got this computer back in November of last year....
Suprisingly the one I'm using now is over 6 years old and it works like a charm :p

So errr d'uh !?! - then RMA the monitor back to 'eek' machines ! - they should almost certainly allow you to swap out the monitor seperately & not require the whole lot - explain your 'findings' to them & they will no doubt see the logic ..
