hello!

tomorrow my new mainboard (Abit K8V) and my new CPU (AMD Athlon 64 3000+) will arrive. I downloaded the 64-bit edition of XP and was planning to run it. However now I am having second thoughts. I have an Audigy2 card and a Radeon 9600Pro along with a Canon LIDE50 scanner. Will these work with the 64-bit edition? If I intall it, can I upgrade it later to a Swedish final version of Windows XP 64?

If I would install Windows XP (32-bit) Pro (Swedish) can I later upgrade it to the final Windows XP 64?

What should I do do you think? Run 32 or 64?

Thanks!

WinXP64 is Beta. Its a bad idea to use a beta OS. ATI just released drivers for Win64, but they're also beta. I haven't heard anything about other drivers being available. I believe that right now, the only OS option for true 64 bit computing on a PC is Linux.

I'm sure not rushing out to buy an Athlon64 yet.

Lets see............XP 64 bit BETA..............limited drivers where available BETA...........No properly supported 64 bit software................Nope at the moment as far as I can see 64 bit sucks.

hehe thanks, I mailed Microsoft´s customer care, they said that they believed there should be no problems upgrading 32-bit Windows to 64-bit. But that you never know what the muppets in the states would come up with so I shouldn't count on it :p

Wait till the full version, anyway the virus writers are ahead of everyone, they have one already.
