how to load standard VGA driver?

HI

I've got a Sony PCG-GRS515SP Laptop with WinXP and ATI Mobility Radeon 7500.

I wanted to update the driver for the latter. Following the instructions, I removed first the old driver. But then the new driver would not install. I was told to load a standard VGA driver first (which the instructions did not preview).

My question is: is this really the problem? If yes, how do I load that driver?

As to whether its the answer to your problem, well how the hell do I know ? :D -You ain't described the problem, merely asked a direct question ;)

However should this advice be 'no good' try describing all of your problem & you never know .. :)
