hello! we've been lurking on these boards for some time & thought we would pick the brains around here to help us out a little ... we've spent 10+ hours surfing on the net trying to solve this problem & can't seem to find a resolution - so any help would be greatly appreciated!

We are trying to play a dvd using Windows Media Player 9. At first we couldn't bc we didn't have a decoder but fixed that with the xpack from Intervideo. Now when we try to play a dvd the audio continues fine but the screen stays blank and an error message is displayed: "This pin cannot use the supplied media type." :flame:

Intervideo says we need to update our video drivers so that brought us here. When we try and search for an update we can't find anything. Here is some information that some of you asked for in previous posts:

OS: Windows XP
PC: Gateway
video driver: ATI Tech, Inc. 3D RAGE PRO AGP 2X
We purchased the pc from a previous owner.

Please let us know if you need any additional information or if we should take our question somewhere else. Thanks in advance.

"This pin cannot use the supplied media type" is a DirectShow error.

Update your sound card drivers and then re-install DirectX if you still get the error.
