I have an HP Laserjet 1200 connected to Office XP under 200 ME. Frequently AND consistently, the printer stops responding when I try to print. It usually occurs in Word, but not always. Once it stops responding, other applications can print such as Outlook Express. Once I reboot the PC, then all is well and the printer works just fine. But soon after it will have the same issue. I even removed the HP laserjet 1200 driver and reinstalled, but to no avail. I have tried both USB and Parallel cable connections too. The problem seems to occur on both cases. PLEASE HELP! I am going nuts w/ this.
Many Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to Windrivers jrlake.
What other applications apart from Word does it stop responding in? By stop responding, does it start to print and then quit or just not print at all?
What type of printouts are they? All text, pictures?
With word, there is a standard template called normal.dot. Often this corrupts and causes odd problems. Find normal.dot, delete it and empty the recycle bin. Reboot and start word, it will recreate it. Does that cure the problem?

It just displays an error message saying check printer online etc. when it is or it just printed a few moments ago.
It is just happening with word and will print of the web, outlook etc. whilst error reporting on word!
does this help?
