It's possible you may have the Sasser Virus or something just as bad, what proccesses are running in your task manager? Any av*.exe or _up.exe programs? Upgrade your virus scan and see what it finds. if you want to blow away your Operating System, that will get rid of the virus along with everything else... You can reformat the drive during the set-up process in Win 2000 or XP....
Hope that helps!

A blue screen can result from many causes, most of them not virus related. A format is a last resort. The first thing you want to do is go to Control Panel\System\Advanced\Startup and Recovery and uncheck the box next to Automatically reboot under System Failure. Then, when your computer blue screens again, the screen will stay up and you can write down what it says. Post that here and we can determine what the problem is.

If you are concerned about a virus or malware, go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and run the online scan. Also go to this thread http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=57348 and follow the instructions for scanning for and removing spyware.
