No Sound for Me Too

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1805 laptop and an ALi Audio Accelerator WDM Driver sound card. I have gone thru all the Toshiba troubleshooting steps, have checked for driver updates, etc. but still can get no sound out of my card. I am running XP. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated.

What does device manager say under sound and multimedia?
What does the multimedia applet in control panel have for record and playback devices?
Have you tried plugging in headphones where the speakers go?
Do you have service pack 1 loaded for xp?
