Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem installing my Audigy sound card. I've had the card for a while and it was running fine for the longest time now. But when I went and updated the drivers my computer went all screwy, so I uninstalled them and tried to reinstall.

I've tried taking out the card, putting it back in, and reinstalling, but for some reason it won't install properly. Everytime the install bar comes to 97% it always asks me for "drmk.sys", which I cancel, and "gameenum.sys". I think my not having these files is my problem, but I'm not sure because I have no idea what these files are. If anybody could help that'd be awesome. Thanks.

Specs: Intel P4 2.0 ghz, some Intel motherboard, and other stuff, not sure how relevant it is...

I found those files that were missing and got the sound working, but now the sound mixer and speaker function won't work. Everytime I try to access it I get an error message telling me no mixer device could be detected.

I have an Intel D845E motherboard with integrated AC97 audio. I disabled it in the BIOS. At least I think I did. I switched the Audio under "Peripheral Configurations" off, and when I installed the drivers fresh, it didn't warn me about other audio devices on my computer.

Now, I have no idea why the mixer won't detect my card. GRRRR!!!

Any help would be GREAT. thanks.

Welcome to Windrivers Noob

Where did you get this driverupdate from? What windows are you using? Do you have your audigy driver cd?

Hey NooNoo

I got the two missing .sys files from the DriverGuide website. I have the original install CD and I updated the drivers from the Creative website. I also downloaded all the necessary updates for AudioHQ and the Mixer, but the Mixer still can't be detected.

When I install from the CD I only install AudioHQ and the Mixer, along with the drivers, don't know if that affects anything tho.

Just to be sure, you are saying that the card has installed, it's showing in device manager ok - but the creative bloatware doesn't see it?

What slot do you have the card in?
What irq does it use?
