I've got the rockwell riptide modem HCF PCI/ modem/ soundcard (called the riptide combo card) that comes in the HP Pavilion series computer (HP Pavilion 4458). The driver update provided by HP does not work for my modem. The modem is mfg'd by Smart Modular Technologies but they do not provide support for the modem because it is not in their agreement with HP.
Does anyone know of these problems and how they've solved it(besides the HP update)? My connect speeds have never been over 26K (56K v90 modem). Any ideas on where I might find a driver for the riptide combo card that will support the 56K speeds for the modem and the soundcard?
