Noob(ME) needs sound help..badly!

Hey guys...i just reinstalled windows xp and put in a new hard drive...but now i have no audio drive or whatever...I dont no what to do.

I dont even no what my sound card is named...i dont think its the sound card tho as it was working b4 i re-installed windows XP.

When you re installed windows xp you lost the drivers for the sound card. It may be a card and it may be built into the motherboard. Drivers are the software interface bewteen windows and the hardware.
Maybe if you supplied what type of computer it is such as box store IE: Dell Emachine,HP,Sony ,Compaq?
You might also want to try a program called aida32 to discover whats in there

Thanks for replying....ok my computer is a P.C.M, Alpha 617
And i installed that program and it is just a ziped file im not to sure what to do with it.

open the file with explorer - on the left click the link "extract all files" follow the wizard.

When it is extracted, run the setup file. You can then go into the program and click on the various icons to show information about your computer.
