In case you didn't notice it the Republican platform made no mention of the assault weapons ban.
Place your orders. In September you can pick them up.

Not only that But Fully Automatic Machine guns were outlawed in the beginning of the last century. Asthetics do not equal Lethality

You can still purchase Fully auto but it requires I believe a Class 3 firearm license. Inorder to do this this first you must get approval from the county sherrif. Then from there it goes to the FBI for an exhaustive background search to make sure you have never gotten stepped on an ant. Then there is the tax you must pay for each weapon, not to mention the high price of the weapon because it it full auto. Then by getting this license you are allowing the FBI to do an audit of your firearms any time they want with no notice. Fully auto's were "banned" because of one gun, the tommy gun. It can still be purchased in semi-auto though.

How many crimes have been commited with legally obtained Class 3 firearms? One in California several years ago and the perp was a police officer.

The assault weapon ban was a law with a scary name, it made people feel good because the "assault weapons" were off the street. Little did they realize that the weapons could still be bought as "pre-ban's" meaning it was made before the ban or without the few bell's and whistles that the ban banned. I think I saw some ignorant person actually say that now people could by rocket launchers or some stupid thing because the ban sunset'ed. The ban did what it was intended to do with that individual, fool them.

I can pick them up now, I just can't put the parts that the ban banned on my gun legally until it sunsets.

Buddy of mine just bought an SKS. I've got a Saiga which is kinda an AK-47 type clone. My next rifle will probably be a mosin-nagant or mauser. I think I spelled those right. I live in a studio condo so I don't have enough room for more than one or two guns without them being in someone's face when they walk in.

I got plenty of room in my house in Alaska. Just send them on up. I'll take care of 'em for ya at no charge!http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/bigok.gifhttp://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/bigok.gif

That goes for everybody too. Um...as long as I can take them out and "play" with them from time to time!http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I have a suprisingly good CETME (Century Arms isnt known for high quality) it is simalar in action to the HK G3 but would be considered a older brother as the G3 was a refinement on the spanish workings (spain is where the engeneers fled to after ww2) and am looking at Picking up a 9mm Bulgarian Makarov for CCW.

I use the Cetme (.308) as my Deer Gun it seems to be as accurate as my buddys .308 winchester bolt action I just saved a couple of hundred with my military styled rifle. (In MO you can only use a 5 rnd mag anyway) Maybe i will replace that lost complience cap with a bayonet lug. It is a pain in the *** to find compliance caps anyway.

I got to rent a full auto one at http://www.pdhsc.com/ . It was definitely fun to shoot but I would definitely go broke with a full auto one. I think the civilian variant has a longer barrel on it which seems pretty weak. I'm not sure though. I need to find a fully auto .22 A penny a round is very affordable.

Yeah, I enjoy different firearms. I like shooting at paper targets and seeing how close I can get one shot to the next and see if I can make myself more accurate. It gives me time by myself to sit and chill. I do motorcycle riding for the same reason.

I guess your hobby is to crack jokes about what other people do when the workday is over.

Seeing your reaction to this thread really shows what type of person you are and the respect you give other people...

Yeah, suprised the voodoo a couple weeks ago, showed up with my .22 rifle and my .44 special revolver and we went to the range. 4 hours later I was the one saying it is time to go, damn what a super enjoyable cool afternoon that was. She was blown away with how much fun she ended up having.

Now, if I can get a hi-cap 9mm instead of my expensive .44, then the afternoon could be even more fun. Heck, a box of 9mm is under $5, my .44 is $15 if I can find any.

Ok,.. I am sorry if I offended you. It was just jokes based on the cowboy mentality of the neocons and was not directed at you or anyone here specifically. Just so you know,.. I have never shot a gun. I have never owned a gun. I would like to someday when I have a safe place to put it. I have shot pellet and BB guns and actually got some kind of basic firearms certification from that experience when I was in the Boy Scouts. I play video games which feature shooting guns as the main premise. I like to watch Clint Eastwood movies. I have nothing against guns or the hobby of collecting/shooting guns. The only problem I have and the main reason I make light of it,.. is because there is a small percentage of people who get these types of guns and shoot other people with them. Think Columbine. Yes I am making jokes, but they are meant to be dry and satirical against the dangers of crazy people using these types of weapons.

And to answer your assumption,.. no, my hobby is not to crack jokes about what other people do when the workday is over. My hobby is to make-believe I am a super hero in Paragon City for around 3-4 hours every night shooting laser beams from my fists, jumping 500 yards at a time, teleporting, etc. That is my current after-work hobby.

That gives me an idea. Next girl I meet,.. I am going to take her to a range to shoot guns for a first date. That would rock! I'm always trying to think of something to do and this would sure beat seeing a dumb movie. This way I can learn how. Nice!

Actually Shooting Fully automatic weapons on a range supervised by a federally licenced instructor will not spur you on to kill innocents.

Columbine was a tragety. But it was a preventable one. If the shooters would have been law abiding citizens they would have never shot up a highschool. Would more laws bring those people to life nope. would a Ban on hand guns have saved those people no they would have just purchased them from the black market. Hey brits do the Yardies have guns ( even though they are totally baned. )

My .45 is a small frame and is still pretty fun to shoot. Taking a chick to the range is pretty fun. I dont mind an afternoon plinking targets. I am pretty good with my .22's and teaching a girl is entertaining.

I have found the best way to teach my wife was to take her to a firearms safety class first. so she dosent shoot her foot off or me with a Hot weapon. then she started to enjoy her self at the range and is thinking about competing in the womens only skeet & trap events

There's a place in Athens GA that rents them here. I've shot the Colt 9mm, MP5, Steyr Aug, and an Uzi. When I last looked the price was around $9000 and then you had to go through a few hoops to buy the MP5. IMO, the MP5 is the perfect automatic. It's accurate and very controllable. I've seen the AR15 A3 in semi-auto for less than $1000 now. Having shot a couple .223s in full auto I'm not sure why you would want too. I imagine you could hold fair groups with practice but it just seems like a waste of ammo. I need a bigger gun safe. :D

Man, let me give you some advice. DO NOT start shooting skeet. The next thing you know you'll be joining the NSSA, shooting 1000 rounds a week (400 in competition), drinking beer at Fish and Game clubs with great people, buying a camper to travel to shoots on weekends and we'll rarely see you online again. :D

This is the Wife that wants to shoot skeet. I just go to entertain her. I like it but man after a while my shoulder just starts to ache.
