What Should I do first with my 6800 Ultra OC?

Well, its supposed to be here tomorrow, my question is what should I do first? Play a game? Doom 3? UT2k4? Or should I run 3dmark 2001? or 2003? Or maybe I should run the nvidia demos.

Please people, help me decide!

First I'd fit the phooooker ! :p - then go order yourself the worlds strongest psu to keep it running when Doom 3 beats the living daylights out of it on the top setting ..

So that it feels like you got something that actually goes significantly faster than an ATI x800 & you don't feel so bad about sticking with Nvidia even though they charge about 50% more ?

Apples & oranges going on ? Rad appears to have ordered the very 'best-est' one, they ain't cheap..

So here you'll have a job finding an ultra at all & maybe thats another reason ?

BTW I just discovered that to play Doom 3 in 'ultra quality' you need a vga card with 512 meg of memory - crikey ! I can't even name one with that much memory...

Didnt a Matrox have 512mb? Theyre useless for gaming though.

Download and run the Nalu (http://download.nvidia.com/downloads/nZone/demos/nvidia/nalu.exe) 6800 demo from nVidia.

Clear Sailing (http://download.nvidia.com/downloads/nZone/demos/nvidia/clear_sailing.exe) is cool as well.

In doom 3 it DOES go significantly faster, hence its a good chance that anything made with the doom 3 engine (probably going to be alot) will run better too.

Take a look at the price of that POS ATI, they cost just as much

So finally today I found some actually available in the UK (having been looking/asking for about a week on & off for someone), been as rare as rocking horse pooh here, at pretty much the same price, infact the 6800 ultra is a bit cheaper than the top x800.

& yup once you get above 1024x768 in Doom 3, there is a definate edge for Nvidia over ati with the new ranges.

So anyway Rad you must have done something with it by now, or has it not turned up yet ?
