MidADdle is Satan spawn - please help me!

Same story with midaddle. Have tried all the spyware removal software and Norton Antivirus and nothing works. I humbly beg your assistance!Here is my HJT logfile:

Your hosts file has been corrupted - all the sites that help you get rid of the problem have been blocked.


here is an explanation of the hosts file (http://accs-net.com/hosts/what_is_hosts.html)

a standard xp host file looks like this

The folder in which the host file is C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
the file is called hosts (note that there is no extension such as txt or exe)
To open it, double click the file and choose notepad when windows asks you what program to use to open the file

You can copy all of the blue text and replace the contents of your hosts file with it. From there you should be able to download and update things like spybot. this thread gives various suggestions (http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=57348) on removing spyware. Use each suggestion to clear up the worst of the problem, then post a new hijack this log for checking.
