- Maxtor Corp. is reportedly boosting warranty of its hard disk drives (http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/storage/display/20040901082859.html) intended for consumers from one year to three, following the similar move to stretch HDD warranty to five years from the rival Seagate Technology.

Techz - how fast are you typing ? .. I keep finding loads of these, put 'em in Tech to Tech please :)

On the subject matter in hand, I'll just add that ALL the manufacturers have been bumping warranty lengths lately, most notably on SATA stuff in an effort to to give sales a shove as IDE prices keep tumbling, but there's manufacturers offering 3 years on IDE again too - a case of read the fine print ;)

But the Tech lounge says "Everything NOT pertaining to PC/computer support type stuff such as your choice of underwear, your boss or anything else within reason! Topics that are of a sexual or drug related theme will be deleted. No politic threads (only in Politicos). "

So :p ..:D

I think 'practice' here has been to shove anything technical not directly covered elsewhere in Tech to Tech, either that or I've been doing it wrong for 5 years ! ;)
