2 things:

Did we not cover this topic a while back?
Bush is a far cry from being an "extreme fundamentalist" by any definition of the word in christian circles.
Although it may be seen as though those who believe that the end is near don't care about social issues or the environment, the truth is that if they are sincere about their beliefs they have not choice BUT to care about those things.

Stewardship of environment is one of the first mandates that was given to mankind. Denying that as a believer would require some fancy and creative interpretation.
