Hi, stumbled on this forum and find it most illuminating.
I proably will be a forum junkie here as well! (who siad get a Life ;) )

I aquired a Tiny scanner from my son and it works fine on Win98SE. he had no drivers/CD/floppy to hand me but WIn88SE recognised it OK
I have now a new PC running XP and find that the scanner is not recognised. Like most things Tiny there is not a lot of information. The only thing I can see that might help is FU318D. I guess I
a) need to find if it would run on XP, but dont know which site to check this out as I only have this number
b) need a driver? But the same problem as a)

is there anyone can help me to progress on this quest?
Thanks in anticipation

Hi Freddy
I have the same problem as Ian, so used the above username and PW you provided, it took me to a download site for a USB scanner for a WinXPPrimaxColoradoUSB9600_19200, this I have downloaded. Before I go any further, I thought to check with you if this is the correct download for the Tiny scanner FU318D, and if so do I double click the SETUP.EXE file?
Can you please advise.

thanks

Sunny

just read tthe readme file ,,,it reads as:

Instructions for installing Win 2000 Drivers in Win XP
**NOTE** I have not tested these driver with the 19200
scanner as I have the 9600, they use the same drivers
in all other OS's so shoudl work fine.

Firstly all the files included are simply extracted
from the standard primax install file pismusbeng.exe
You can run them from the setup file as by running
the original file but no drivers are sucessfully
installed in xp
To get the drivers working you need to do the following:
(I apologise for the very simple steps through this
but I don't know how much experience everyone needing
these drivers has)

1, Unzip the file (you should ahve done this to be
reading this)
2, Go the CONTROL PANEL
3, Select the SYSTEM option
4, Select HARDWARE
5, Click the DEVICE MANAGER button
6, Double click the scanner (this should be listed
under OTHER DEVICES and have an ! symbol by it)
7, Select the DRIVER tab
8, click the UPDATE DRIVER button
9, Select the ADVANCED wizard option which lets you
choose a specfic location to look for the
drivers and click NEXT
10, Select the yop option where you tell windows
where to look and then use the BROWSE button
to find your way to the directory you unzipped
the files too and click next
11, The wizard should now bring up a list of two
drivers to choose from. Both of these work fine
so select which ever you like and click NEXT
12, Windows will prompt you that the driver is not
digitally signed and ask if you wish to continue
to which you say yes (this may pop up again)
13, Once the driver is installed you need to click
FINISH and the driver should be installed okay.
To check the driver has been installed go back to the
Device Manager screen and the scanner should now be
listed under Imaging Devices
The scanner should work straight away but you might
want to restart anyway.
The standard TWAIN interface is pretty basic but
functional enough but you may want to use it in
conjunction with an editor like Paint Shop Pro or
Photoshop to make sure you can do everything you want to.

I hope this is okay for everyone and that you get your
scanners working without any problems.

hope this helps

I confirm that the driver WinXPPrimaxColoradoUSB9600_192 00.zip at:

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=914197

seems to work with vista for a USB Tiny FU318D scanner.

You need to install it using the hardware device driver/browse to the location where you unpacked the zip.

It works with GIMP ok, but some other software I had didn't recognise it.
